About our pastor:

The Rev. Dr. Douglas (Doug) Nagel has served as pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Gloucester now for three and a half years. He is a family man who values education.

Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania in 1954, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA.

Doug and his wife, LuAnn, have two children. Elizabeth is married to Derek Aldridge and has twin daughters, Cadence and Caylyn.
Andrew is a sophomore at Roanoke College in Salem, VA where he majors in biology and is a member of the Men’s Indoor and Men’s Outdoor Track teams.


Doug enters his 29 th year of ordained ministry this year and has served churches in Maryland, Illinois and Ohio. When not working, Doug enjoys singing and making music with the piano, keyboard, organ and guitar and also likes cycling, reading and collecting stamps

Doug describes himself as “a pastor who listens well, cares deeply, thinks creatively, communicates effectively and laughs frequently.”
