Mission Statement
The mission of the First Presbyterian Church of Gloucester is to proclaim the love, mercy, power and wisdom of our Creator, the One True God, as set
forth in His inspired Word, the Holy Bible. We further proclaim that we are saved by God's grace through the sacrificial death and victorious
resurrection of Christ Jesus, His only Son. We are charged with the responsibility
to lead others to accept His priceless gift.
In obedience to God and with gratitude for His everlasting love, we are to
reach out to His children of all ages and conditions.
Following Christ as our example, we must work for reconciliation, unity, and peace by responding, with compassion, to the
spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of the congregation, surrounding
community, and a rapidly changing world.
We are caretakers of the rich heritage of this church, which has been characterized
through the years by a loving, caring congregation. We demonstrate our faith and commitment through worship, Bible study, prayer, evangelism,
stewardship, service, and fellowship as led by the Holy Spirit. In fulfilling
our mission, we will provide dedicated professional
and lay leaders, office staff, modern equipment, and adequate facilities and
space for both present and future needs. We will continue to nurture God's covenant community of individuals and families united in love, seeking
to obey His will as we worship, study, pray,
and work daily to his glory.
